Halloween takes on strange shapes in Virden

There's always shock value in Halloween get-ups.

Big orange and black inflatables stand out on streetscapes, along with raggedy spectres hanging from trees, door knobs, and fences throughout towns. On Oct. 31,Tuesday evening Halloween trick-or-treaters made the rounds despite snow on the ground and temperatures around -10.

Within businesses, such as Highway Grocery or Virden Ford, for example employees were in costume.

Earlier in the week, the Virden branch of Border Regional Library held its own scary time around an innovative campfire.
