On March 24, 2021, at approximately 2:25 pm, Russell RCMP responded to a report of a disturbance at a local business on Main Street in Inglis, Manitoba.
A 51-year-old man entered the business without a mask, and when reminded of the public health orders by an employee, he proceeded to get angry and belligerent. He refused to put on a mask, and then began to bang his fists on the counter and against the plastic partition, where the employee was standing.
He left the store for a few minutes, but returned and continued to be belligerent and act out.
As part of the investigation, officers located the male suspect a short time later at his own place of business. He was yelling, swearing and being belligerent towards officers and was subsequently arrested.
He is facing charges of Mischief, Causing a Disturbance along with Failing to wear a Mask x2 ($298) and Failing to wear a mask in his own business ($5,000).
He was released from custody on an Undertaking (with conditions), and is scheduled to appear in court on June 23, 2021.
