Miniota By Linda Clark

Lovely surprise visits last week for residents in our community from the students and staff of Miniota Elementary School as they walked door to door delivering a valentine greeting to all.   Thank you for your kindness.

Congratulations to Laura Poppel and Travis Peters on the birth of their daughter Banks Elizabeth Peters on Feb. 9th at Calgary. Congratulations to Grandpa Wayne, Val, and all the family members who are eager to meet Banks.

The U7 tournament was held on Feb.11th with teams from Elkhorn, Virden, Birtle and Miniota participating. An exciting day for a full rink watching these young people at the start of their hockey career, and who doesn’t love it when they stop mid-action to wave at one of their fans!

In honour of Valentine’s Day: “Kind hearts are the gardens. Kind thoughts are the roots. Kind words are the flowers. Kind deeds are the fruits. Take care of your garden and keep out the weeds. Fill it with sunshine, kind words and kind deeds.” -Author Unknown

This past weekend, Kendall and Angie Heise attended the convocation of their daughter Karina Winters, at the RBC Convention Centre in Winnipeg, along with Karina’s husband Kyle, and their children Max and McKenna, and her sister Jessica Heise. Karina has attained her Chartered Professional Accountants designation, and she has a position with BDO in Brandon. Congratulations Karina from the Isabella Community!

Kenton By Karen Anderson

Bonnie Crawford’s passing was a sad loss for her footcare clients. Now, Woodworth Senior Services has found a foot care practitioner and were able to offer foot clinic service on Feb. 1st. Seniors can expect the next clinic in six weeks' time, on March 6.

Tanis Boyd of Rapid City is now booked for every six weeks as we had with Bonnie. We are happy to be able to engage her services.

During the recent bonspiels, residents have enjoyed the meals at the Kenton and Lenore rinks. Kenton’s seniors enjoyed a Valentine meal this week at Brierwood Creek Cafe & Grill. We celebrated one February birthday at the Senior Valentine meal. Adeline Merke-Good turned 85.

Activities are ramping up with the Social Club resuming on Feb. 20 from 2-4pm in Kenton Hall.
