Onlylocalfood.com is back on the radar and slowly crawling its way across prarie Manitoba. They’ve caught the eyes and ears of many local farmers around the Virden area. Business has picked up since we last heard from the company and this reporter had a chance to talk to Devon Taylor about his growth. Taylor took the time out of his day to come down to the fairly popular Virden Farmers Market to tell people about his site and what it can do to help improve the shopping experience for customers and producers.
He stated that he has started to help many Virden area producers such as Marlin Peters, a regular seller at the Virden Farmers Market.
Peters is very happy with the partnership, utilizing social media to make his produce more available to the public.
“Well, I think the big part of it for me is that during the summer I don’t have time to be sitting in an office trying to get all that stuff figured out. So it’s super user friendly. I can update my inventories, my sale dates, all that stuff,” stated Peters.
Now the Virden area market gardener has the challenge of making sure he can provide a steady supply. But that’s a good problem.
