Westman RCMP Service Report for Westman RCMP Service Report for Feb. 25 – March 2

During this week Westman RCMP received a total of 61 calls for service. Of the 61, 19 were traffic related, four assault files, one fail to comply probation order and four wellbeing checks.

On Feb. 25, RCMP received a call for an assault occurring in the town of Elkhorn. RCMP attended and one male and one female were arrested. The male will appear in court in May on two charges: assault, and mischief under $5000 – damage to property. The female will appear in court in May on one charge of assault.


On Feb. 25, RCMP received a call for a dispute in Virden. RCMP attended and one female was arrested. Charged with assault, she will appear in court in May.

On March 2, police were dispatched to a single semi truck motor vehicle incident in the RM of Sifton. The semi was on its side blocking the highway. Roads were bare pavement at the time of the incident, resulting in the driver being charged with careless driving which carries a fine of $672, and operating a motor vehicle with and unsecured load which carries a fine of $298. A serious offence notice was also issued.

During a routine traffic patrol in the RM of Wallace-Woodworth, RCMP observed a vehicle speeding, travelling at 133km/hr in a 100km/hr zone. RCMP conducted a traffic stop and the driver was issued a traffic offence notice which carries a fine of $482.

During a routine traffic patrol being conducted in the RM of Pipestone, RCMP observed a vehicle speeding, travelling at 118km/hr in a 90km/hr zone. RCMP conducted a traffic stop with the vehicle and the driver was issued a traffic offence notice which carries a fine of $416.
