RCMP ask for tips on B&E

For the week of Nov. 7 to 13 the Westman RCMP dealt with 55 police occurrences.

Nov. 8 – Call for service in Sioux Valley for an assault. It was reported that a youth male had been assaulted by a 26-year-old male. Subsequent to investigation, the 26-year-old male was arrested for two counts of assault. He was released with a future Court date on the condition that he have no contact or communication with the victim.

Nov. 9 – Call for service in Sioux Valley for a domestic assault. It was reported that an adult female was struck by a wood board. Subsequent to investigation, it was determined that no one was struck by a board. Someone was just seen carrying one.

Nov. 10 – Call for service in Virden for a domestic assault. Subsequent to investigation, a 29-year-old male was arrested for assault. He was released with a future Court date on the condition that he have no contact or communication with the victim.

Nov. 11 – Call for service in Sioux Valley for a 31-year-old male who was sprayed with bear mace. He refused assistance from EMS, and refused to co-operate with a police investigation.

Nov. 12 – Call for service to a rural property in Virden for a report of a Break and Enter. Through investigation, it is believed there were two suspects. Anyone with any information pertaining to this crime is encouraged to contact the Virden RCMP. An anonymous tip can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers.

Nov. 12 – Call for service to the Virden hospital for a report that an adult female was consuming hand sanitizer. She was removed from the hospital and driven home by police.

Nov. 13 – Call for service to a residence in Virden for a report that drums were being played at 12:40 in the morning. The individual playing the drums was asked to stop.

  • Seven disturbing the peace calls
  • Three Traffic collisions
  • Three calls under the Mental Health Act
  • Two suspicious person calls
  • Two false alarm calls
  • Two Wellbeing checks
