During the week of Aug. 3rd to Aug. 9th, the Westman RCMP dealt with 52 police activities.
Aug. 3 - RCMP were dispatched to the RM of Two Boarders for a report of a theft. A hydraulic cylinder was stolen. The matter is still under investigation.
Aug. 3 - RCMP were dispatched to Oak Lake for a report of an assault. The victim disclosed that she was choked and punched. A warrant for the arrest of the accused has been issued.
Aug. 4- RCMP were dispatched to Virden for a report of an intoxicated male refusing to leave a public building. Upon attending, a knife was located on the male. The male was arrested for possession of a weapon dangerous to the public. He was Court ordered to forfeit the knife.
Aug. 5 - RCMP were dispatched to Reston for a report of a stolen truck. The matter is still under investigation.
Aug. 6 - RCMP received a report of a historical sexual assault that occurred in Virden. The matter is still under investigation.
Aug. 7 - RCMP were dispatched to a report of a tornado on highway 83 in the RM of Pipestone. Upon attending, it was determined that two vehicles were thrown by the tornado. An 18-year-old male and an 18-year-old female died as a result of their injuries.
