Break and enter and mischief complaints increase

• Virden RCMP responded to over 50 calls for service this week. Ten of these were highway traffic investigations.

• A male wanted for a warrant in Brandon, was located in Virden, arrested, and remanded awaiting court appearance.

• A female wanted for a warrant in Brandon, was located in Virden, arrested, and released awaiting court appearance.

• Police responded to a domestic assault in Elkhorn. A male was located, arrested, and is being held in custody until court appearance.

• RCMP responded to an assault with a weapon call in Virden. The male was located, arrested, and is being held in custody until court appearance.

• Two reports of break and enter, along with multiple mischief complaints have been made, and are under investigation. In one instance, the home owner scared suspects away. Police are asking the public to report any suspicious persons to assist in solving these complaints.

• Police responded to a fatal house fire in the RM of Pipestone on the morning of May 4. See press release for more information.

• An individual male was stopped by police on suspicion of impaired driving. Upon a voluntary breathalyzer, his alcohol level was found to be 50-80 mg%, subsequently he received a 72 hour driving suspension.

• RCMP responded to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway No. 1 and Highway No. 83 in late afternoon of May 5. See photos and story for more information.
