Corporal Ed Riglin reported 135 calls of service between Tueaday, May 19 and Monday, June 1; 78 of these were violations under the Highway Traffic Act, four reported incidents
of assault, three suspicious person calls, and seven false alarms to homes and businesses.
May 19
• Report of a threat call but the complainant declined charges.
May 20
• A vehicle caught fi re on Hwy #83. The fire department and RCMP attended the scene. The van was lost in the blaze, no one was seriously injured.
May 22
• Report of an impaired driver in Virden, a description was given but the suspect was not found.
May 25
• Report of a trailer fire in the R.M. of Wallace- Woodworth. The fire commissioner was on the scene and does not feel it was arson. No one was injured.
May 31
• Police pulled over an impaired driver in Virden. The driver was a 46-year-old male with readings of nearly twice the legal limit.
• A vehicle was pulled over. The driver, a 24-year-old male from Winnipeg, had his vehicle impounded for driving without a valid license.
• Police are looking for a stolen vehicle. The vehicle is a Hyundai Tucson with license plate number “GGY 348”. It was stolen from the McAuley area.
