Reston School: It’s Personal

Teacher has personal reason for spearheading Humboldt fundraiser

Reston teacher Sadie Riendeau has a personal reason for spearheading last week’s fundraising blitz for the Humboldt Broncos.

Her brother Wyatt Riendeau played for the SJHL Broncos last year before he was traded to OCN in Manitoba.

Reston School principal Dan Kristof says that’s the motivation that spurred the teacher to plan a BBQ, bake sale, auction, coin collection and other fundraisers at the school.

He says the $3,500 they raised might not be as much as Virden or other larger towns, but for a K-12 school of 190 students, they feel good about their contribution.

One of the highlights was Friday night’s auction of a hockey-themed painting created at a paint night event. The bidding topped out at $850.
