Southwest Assiniboine Chapter of the Retired Teachers Association of Manitoba held their Fall Meeting, Nov. 21. After the traditional opening exercises about 24 people enjoyed a wonderful lunch provided by The Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Tanis Wilkins from CAA in Brandon talked about several travel ideas. She told of different destinations, different styles of travel, and new ideas that have been developed over the past few years. She gave ideas for saving money if that is what you like (most of us do). There were also some expensive ideas as well, but they did cater to the individual traveler. She provided a great opportunity for our group to ask questions and think of what we would like to add to our wish list. After the presentation we had our many door prize draws for a little fun.

After our laughter had subsided, we moved to our meeting. Our executive gave their reports with most working on upcoming activities.

President, Laura Ellen Elliott reported on the changes we are going through as is the whole Retired Teachers Association of Manitoba. The biggest part of this has been getting all the information from all the chapters collected and off to the accountants. Now we are trying to move forward and figuring out how this will work. The accountants and lawyers will be putting a package of information together for us.

We do look forward to continuing our activities in the future.
