Sandy Bay Search Warrant finds illegal weapons, drugs

A search warrant leads to the arrest of an 18-year-old on drug and firearms charges.

On July 19, Manitoba First Nations Police Service (MFNPS) executed a search warrant at a residence in the 300 Block of Townsite Bay in Sandy Bay First Nation.

As a result of the search warrant the following was located and seized:

▪ Firearms

▪ Ammunition

▪ Bear spray

▪ Approximately 50 grams of a substance believed to be cocaine

▪ Approximately 8 grams of a substance believed to be crystal methamphetamine

▪ Scales and packaging materials

 

James Allen Clifford ROULETTE, 18 years old, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

▪ Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

▪ Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose

▪ CDSA 5(2) Possession for the purpose of trafficking x2

 

Roulette was scheduled to appear in court on July 20, 2023 in Portage La Prairie.

MFNP Service encourages anyone that suspects illegal activity, such as drug trafficking, or illegal firearms to contact their local police detachment. The fight against drugs and firearms has to be a community effort and it takes everyone’s help to keep our communities safe.

Sandy Bay community is located on the western shore of Lake Manitoba about 85 km northeast of Neepawa.
