Ethel Bowles had a birthday tea for her 100th birthday on Dec. 9. She had many visitors: Glen and Cindy Greenlay from Melita on Dec. 10, and the Everetts from Brandon, Bowles family and friends from Elkhorn, and Sharon Pedlow from Brandon.

Dec. 11, we had Funshine II daycare come to Princess Lodge. They sang Christmas songs and gave us each an ornament they made.

Dec. 14, the Mary Montgomery Christmas Concert was held at the Aud. I attended to see my great-grandchildren Kennedy and Logan Stuart.

Dec. 8, my other great-grandchild, Zane Hodgins had his hockey tournament over the weekend, which I attended.

Dec. 12, the Ukelele Club came to entertain us.

Dec. 13, S.A.I.L. put on a Christmas meal. We had turkey with all the trimmings followed by Christmas songs played by Karyn Penner on the piano and Krista Pedersen on the guitar.

Stan and Bonnie Bryant are the proud new great-grandparents; Sean and Mel Bryant, St. Lazare, the grandparents, to Briggs Sean, a son born on Nov. 27 to Chantal and Brad Lesy and big brother Tucker, of Brandon. Congratulations.

Miniota U7 and U9 held Minor Hockey Day this past Saturday at our community rink, each hosting a visiting team from Elkhorn for some fun. As wonderful as this weather is, our natural ice is difficult to keep in shape and thus, our skating / hockey is on hold in our rink.

First time grandparents Rodney and Loree Gardham are pleased to welcome Emeline Violet, a daughter born to Curtis Williamson and Jess Shirley on Dec.17 in Regina. Grandpa and Grandma journeyed to Regina to meet their granddaughter and enjoy some cuddles. Congratulations to the proud parents, grandparents and aunts, Hailey and Becky!

Wishing all our readers near and far a blessed Christmas and may 2024 treat you all kindly!

“May you have the gladness of Christmas which is HOPE, the spirit of Christmas which is PEACE, and the heart of Christmas which is LOVE.”  -Ada V. Hendricks
