A serious crash kills the driver.
It was early morning on July 26, when police were called to the scene of a single vehicle accident on a rural road.
At approximately 7:40 a.m., Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP responded to an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) collision on Road 95 West near Highway 5, in the RM of Lakeshore.
Initial investigation has determined the ATV, with two occupants, was going south on Rd 95 W, when it went into the ditch and struck a tree.
The driver, a 28-year-old male from Dauphin, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger, a 26-year-old female from Crane River First Nation, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.The driver and passenger were not wearing helmets at the time of the collision.
The ATV was reported stolen from the RM of Alonsa on July 4, 2023.
Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, continue to investigate.
