It was one of those “could-have-been-much-worse” grass fires in Elkhorn May 17. It broke out around 9:30 Thursday morning in the area behind the museum and 3DI, but the gusty winds pushed it away from the buildings and towards the railway tracks.
Fire crews quickly extinguished it.
Wallace District Fire Chief Brad Yochim says the fire was started in a garbage pile by someone from 3DI and went out of control.
