Local winners of "Dare to Dream of Peace," the 2023 Lions International Peace Poster Contest, receive their prizes from members of the Virden Lions Club at Virden Junior High School on Oct. 27. This marks the 26th year that Lions Joan and Ben Veselovsky have coordinated the competition, with participation from the school's Grade 7 students as part of their Social Studies curriculum. There was a total of 40 entries, with first place being awarded $50 and second place receiving $20. The winning poster will now go on to be judged at the zone level.
