Sat. Dec. 9 was "Fill a Sleigh Day," the annual Christmas toy drive at the Virden Red Apple store. Five Virden Oil Capitals players and four Wallace District Fire Dept. Stn. 1 firefighters came out to show their support, and the Grinch was on hand for photos. Customers had the opportunity to donate new items and the store will contribute 5% of each purchase that day towards gifts for the residents of The Sherwood and West-Man Nursing Home.
