Thinking about yourself? Talking to yourself?

“I will daily praise God and give Him thanks.”

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:13-14

Speaking these great words establishes your self-worth. With these words, you are saying to yourself “I am the prized creation of the awesome Creator.” You are full of worth in His eyes; be full of worth in your own eyes. Your misconceptions about yourself will always produce untruthful thoughts of and talks to yourself. Think of yourself and tell yourself that you are specially His. Think of yourself and tell yourself “I am made for good.” You are one-of-a-kind! Do not try to mess up God’s handiwork in you by trying to be like any other person. God made you. Be good, uniquely good for Him as His words instruct you! Allow Him to complete His creative work in you. Think of yourself and tell yourself “I am equipped to be God’s best.” This will be true as you receive God’s response to your request—"give me understanding to learn your commands.”

Whatever God shows you of yourself, in His words, He has already prepared you to be that person. You are not defined by what others think of or say about you. You are not defined by your mistakes. You are not defined by the abuse of others. You are defined by following His guide.

Let God continue His work in you. Think of yourself and tell yourself “I will daily praise God and give Him thanks.” For real! Do this! The next time negative thoughts about yourself arise, start praising God for what He has done for you and accept it. Learn more at Virden Alliance Church.
