RCMP traffic stop leads to arrest and assault charges against full-patch outlaw motorcycle gang member

On Saturday, March 17, 2018, at approximately 11:35 pm, officers from the Headingley Detachment were conducting traffic enforcement on the Winnipeg Perimeter Highway when an officer was nearly struck by a passing vehicle as he was standing beside a vehicle he had pulled over.
Officers quickly caught up to the suspect vehicle and observed that it was being driven erratically. Officers stopped the vehicle and the subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the driver for impaired driving.

During the arrest, it was noted that the driver of the vehicle was wearing a biker vest from the Suicide Crew, an outlaw motorcycle gang.

At the detachment, the accused refused to provide a breath sample, uttered threats and became combative.

RCMP have charged 46-year-old Stephen McInnis, from Calgary, with Impaired Driving, Refusal to Provide a Breath Sample, Uttering Threats X 2, and Assaulting a Police Officer X 2. He was remanded into custody with a court appearance scheduled later today in Winnipeg.

The Headingley RCMP continue to investigate.
