The child hit by a car in Virden on Friday suffered only minor injuries, an RCMP spokesperson said on Monday.
A child on a bicycle was struck in the middle of King Street at the corner of 9th Ave. around 4 p.m. Friday. Police at the scene spent about an hour interviewing possible witnesses and photographing the mangled bicycle.
Const. Paul Manaigre, RCMP media relations, told the Virden Empire-Advance, “The driver of the suspect vehicle in this hit and run has not been identified as of yet as he failed to remain at the scene after the collision occurred.
“The investigation is ongoing.”
RCMP have not released any further details about how the accident occurred.
