Virden folks wade into Christmas activities

As the Very Virden Christmas campaign ramps up so do Christmas activities in downtown locations.

In keeping with the Very Virden Christmas theme, Mrs. Santa Claus, a.k.a. Border Regional Library Children's Clerk Ally Eisner, made the trip from the North Pole to read a classic Dr. Seuss tale "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" to a group of children during Light-Up Night on Nov. 23. Mrs. Claus also read a new Dr. Seuss release, "How the Grinch Lost Christmas," later in the evening.

The Station - market and gallery - are right into Christmas activities and...

It was the perfect occassion to decorate Christmas ornaments at Virden's 'crafting central'. So, when the weekend rolled around, the classroom at Custom Creations on Seventh Ave. was a busy place on Nov. 25 as a number of youngsters and adults came out to try their hand at ceramic painting. People had the opportunity to choose from a selection of pre-cast pieces and add colour to make a one-of-a-kind ornament to adorn the Christmas tree.
