The instrumental portion of Virden Music & Arts Festival took place on March 5 - 6 with adjudicator Dr. Wendy Zander. Among other roles, Dr. Zander is the director of the Symphonic Band at Brandon University.
Competition continued with club dance sessions of the Virden Music & Arts Festival, adjudicated by Kristin Weber of Yorkton, Sask. These took place March 13 -14 in the Virden Aud Theatre.
Festival sessions for vocal / choral begin on April 15. As with dance and instrumentals, you will enjoy some of the finest young talent from southwest Manitoba, and also the adjudication by Marjorie Sparks, an accomplished performer and voice instructor. A graduate of McGill University, Ms Sparks performed with the Canadian Opera Company among other accomplishments. As a child, she sang in the Virden Music Festival and looks forward to returning to Virden as an adjudicator.
