Virden RCMP chase down a thief

While running from police, he dropped a break-in tool.

 

During the week of Nov. 22 to Nov. 28, Westman RCMP dealt with 39 police activities, including the following dispatches:

Nov. 25 – RCMP received a report that a black GMC Sierra stolen from Swift Current was being tracked by On Star and was presently in Virden. The vehicle was located in a parking lot on Seventh Ave. in Virden. A pursuit on foot ensued, resulting in the arrest of a 24-year-old male, without further incident. While running from police, he dropped a break-in tool. He was remanded into custody, and is facing charges of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of break-in tool, resist arrest, breach of probation and operating a motor vehicle wile prohibited.

Nov. 25 – RCMP were dispatched to Virden for a report of a domestic assault. Subsequent to the investigation, a 37-year-old female was arrested for assault. A 31-year-old male was also arrested for assault, and for failing to comply with an undertaking. They were both released on a future Court date on the condition that they have no contact or communication with each other.

Nov. 26 – RCMP were dispatched to the intersection of Highway 1, and Highway 21 for a report of a domestic assault. Subsequent to investigation, a 42-year-old male was arrested for assault, mischief under $5,000 and refusal to comply with a breath demand. The man also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. A 29-year-old female was arrested for failure to comply with a blood demand, operation of a conveyance while impaired, and for driving while disqualified. They were both released on a future Court date with the condition they abstain from contact or communication with each other.

Nov. 28 – RCMP were dispatched to the RM of Sifton for a report of a missing youth. The youth was located safe and returned to the family.

RCMP also responded to eight traffic complaints, two collisions, two 911 misdials, two child welfare calls, and four times giving assistance to other organization files. RCMP also responded to a sexual assault for which we have no further details to release at this time.
