A male suspect in a violent assault on a Sioux Valley man has been arrested. The suspected assailant has been arrested and is in custody.
On Jan. 18, 2024, at approximately 2:45 p.m., Virden RCMP received a report of an assault in Sioux Valley Dakota Nation. When police arrived on scene at a residence, they found a male victim, 55, inside the residence with significant injuries from an assault. He was transported to hospital.
An investigation led police to the suspect, John Robert Hall. Police say the two were known to each other, but there was no family connection. Hall, 60, although somewhat aggressive with police, was arrested without incident. Hall is charged with assault causing bodily harm. He has been remanded in custody.
The victim is in stable condition.
