Wallace-Woodworth minutes record brief summer meeting

On Aug. 9, the RM of Wallace-Woodworth Regular Council Meeting met at 8 a.m. with Reeve, Clayton Canart; Councillors: Barb Stambuski, Diana MacDonald, Val Caldwell, Mark Humphries, Denis Lachapelle, and Rea Kinnaird; CAO, Garth Mitchell; and ACAO, Iris Vercaigne all present in the office. 
The agenda and the minutes from July 27 Regular Council Meeting were approved.


The first Resolution No: 22/229: Moved by Val Caldwell; Seconded by Mark Humphries that the Council of the R.M. of Wallace-Woodworth approves Change Order #9 for the repair of 4th Street, Elkhorn under the Elkhorn Lagoon Expansion, Forcemain and Lift Station Project in the total amount of $49,000 (excluding taxes). Carried


A second motion Resolution No: 22/228 for Elkhorn Lift Station Grating, Moved by Rea Kinnaird; Seconded by Diana MacDonald; that Council approves the Change Order for the Elkhorn Lagoon Expansion to address the price increase from Structural Composite Technologies Ltd. for molded mesh grating in the total amount of $3,089 (excluding taxes). Carried


Council reviewed the July GIS monthly reports and the July report from the By-Law/Animal Control Officer.
A Street Usage Request (Elkhorn) was granted by Resolution No: 22/230; Moved by: Barb Stambuski; Seconded by Diana MacDonald to grant approval to Samantha's Boutique for Street Vendor parking on Richhill St. or Grange St. for the store's Oct. 23 sales event as requested. Carried


A Virden Chamber of Commerce Funding Request, Resolution No: 22/231 was Moved by Val Caldwell; Seconded by Rea Kinnaird to support the 32nd Annual Downtown Daze scheduled on Aug. 18, organized by Virden Community Chamber of Commerce, with a donation of $500 from the Special Events/Project Funding 2022 allocation.  Carried
Council reviewed the Trans Canada West Planning District July 25 Meeting Minutes as information.

Reports 
The Kenton LUD's meeting on Aug. 18; Elkhorn LUD's meeting on Aug. 19 and Council reviewed the July 25 Elkhorn LUD meeting minutes, as information.
The only staff/councillor/committee report was from Coun. Humphries of the Border Regional Library meeting. 
At 8:15 a.m. Council moved their meeting to In Camera to discuss legal, labour and land issues. The In-Camera session was adjourned at 8:57 a.m.
