Flag Bearers Announced and Rosters Released for 2018 Manitoba Games

Up to 1,500 of Manitoba’s best young male and female athletes and coaches will compete in 12 different sports over the coming week at the 2018 Manitoba Games powered by Manitoba Hydro. Official rosters are now released and are searchable by athlete’s name, team name, sport, or region. The flag bearers for each of the six regional teams have also been announced. Each flag bearer will represent their region and lead their team into the Opening Ceremonies of the Games.

Join us as we celebrate the Opening Ceremonies of the 2018 Manitoba Games powered by Manitoba Hydro. This event will be live-streamed on the Manitoba Games Facebook page from Thompson. Watch as the C.A. Nesbitt Arena in the Thompson Regional Community Centre is transformed into a giant party. Experience the excitement of the start of the Games as athletes from all over the province prepare to compete in 13 different sports.

Team Toba Alumni Shine at Olympics

Team Canada had a tremendous showing at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, finishing third overall in both the gold medal count with 11 and in total medals, the Canadians leave South Korea highly decorated. In total, Canada won 29 medals, a new national Olympic Winter Games record, surpassing its Vancouver 2010 total of 26. Canada Games alumni were major contributed to Canada’s medal haul.
