Local kids and their families came out on a sunny and seasonable Easter Sunday afternoon, Mar. 31, to take part in the second annual Wallace District Fire Dept. Stn. 1 Easter Egg Hunt. The event, open to kids up to 10 yrs. of age, was moved to the Mary Montgomery School playground from the original location of Victoria Park due to wet conditions. Sparky, the fire dept.'s mascot, and the Easter Bunny himself were on hand to mingle with the youngsters as they scurried about collecting the brightly coloured eggs distributed throughout the school grounds. In return, a variety of prizes donated by sponsors were given out, including Ice Cream Island coupons, Boston Pizza Kids' Meals, chocolate Easter eggs, stuffed bunnies and more.
