Club West Rage comes in third at Provincials

The second weekend of the 2018 Volleyball Manitoba Provincial Championships took place this past weekend April 28 and 29 in Winnipeg with 74 teams competing in the girls and boys 15U and 16U categories.

The second weekend of the 2018 Volleyball Manitoba Provincial Championships took place this past weekend April 28 and 29 in Winnipeg with 74 teams competing in the girls and boys 15U and 16U categories.

With Manitoba having three of the top five 15U teams in Canada, the Provincials were going to be a dog fight.

Club West finished second in their pool losing to Dynamo but beating the number 1 ranked Shock and then the Bisons.

The girls then defeated Fort Francis and then Winman in quarter finals. This set up a rematch between Shock and Club West. Shock defeated West 2-0 by scores of 25-22 and 25-21. West then defeated Bisons Gold in two straight to get bronze.

It was a very good Provincials with some high caliber volleyball. Maddie Lesnar was named to the Provincial All-Star team.

The Provincials involve 190 teams in total competing in thirteen championships over three weekends.
