On August 6, the Virden Oil Capitals were proud to announce the signing of Estevan, SK product Kyle Salaway, for the 2015-2016 season.
The six-foot-one forward played last season with the Battelfords Stars in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League.
The 18-year-old product played in all 44 games with the Battlefords Stars, scoring 16 goals and 29 assists in the 2014-2015 season.
The signing doesn’t stop for the Oil Capitals. Former player D’Amico, who was a member of the Oil Capitals in 2013-2014, signed with the Colorado Eagles for the 2015-2016 season.
The six -foot -tall forward played in 14 games while a member of Virden Oil Capitals, registering 17 points.
“Patrick is a talented young prospect who will have a great opportunity to show what he can do,” Eagles head coach and general manager, Chris Stewart, said in a press release, “Given his potential, he certainly has a chance to be one of the better rookies this year in the ECHL.”
D’Amico will make his first debut this fall and Salaway will make his first appearance as an Oil Capital at Fall Camp, August 28.
