Virden Oilers 15U team finishes second in Oildome

The Virden Oilers 15U finished second in the Oildome League. That gave us the right to go to the “A” provincials in Rosenort. We went undefeated in the round robin, beat Hamiota in the semi-final but lost out to the Blumenort Red Sox in the final.

The boys played really well all weekend especially considering how hot it was. They never quit even though some games we were behind and came back to win.

The coaching staff was really pleased with their effort and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. This was commented on by a couple of fans and coaches of other teams.

The parents all cheered us on even when we were down in some games to help rally us to two come-from-behind wins. These boys and parents represented Virden with pride!
