Keith Wadham honoured by the municipality

Municipal Christmas Banquet was the perfect time to show their appreciation

Reeve of Wallace-Woodworth Clayton Canart makes a presentation to Lil Wadham in honour of her husband Keith. The inscription on the presentation reads: "Volunteers do not necessarily have the time, they have the heart."

For years, Keith Wadham served the public as a councillor and on community committees. His sudden death in June 2019 was a blow to the community. The RM of Wallace – Woodworth council chose to honour Keith’s memory at their Christmas Banquet, held in Kenton on Dec.6.

In a presentation to Keith’s widow Lilian, Reeve Clayton Canart paid tribute to Wadham’s dedicated service to the municipality, as well as his tireless devotion to the Virden & Area Handi-Van and Virden Medical Retention Committee.

That he was a deeply appreciated man is born out by the emotion in the room during that presentation.

“Keith was always only a phone call away for the Handi-Van and its needs, whether he was needed as a driver to get someone where they needed to go, being a board member, or making a trip to Winnipeg to have the van fixed, Keith was always there,” noted the reeve.

Canart said later, “The presentation to Lil was an honour for us and a small token to show our appreciation and thanks for the time and commitment Keith volunteered for Wallace-Woodworth and area.”
