Armed robbery suspects apprehended near Camperville
On December 12, at approximately 5:40 p.m. Winnipegosis RCMP and Dauphin RCMP responded to an armed robbery at a business located on 1st Avenue, in Pine River.
Two males wearing masks entered the business carrying a rifle and demanded money, cigarettes and liquor. The males then fled on an all-terrain vehicle. The employee relayed this information to 911 and officers set up road blocks in the area.
RCMP located the ATV on Highway 20 and Highway 272 near Camperville. A traffic stop was initiated, however the ATV fled into a nearby field. With the assistance of Police Dog Services, three males were found hiding in the area. They were arrested.
The firearm and stolen items were recovered.
James Flatfoot, 33, of Dauphin has been charged with;
· Robbery with a Firearm
· Disguised with Intent to Commit and Offence
· Flight from Peace Officer
· Weapons Possession Contrary to Order
· Possession of a Firearm when Unauthorized
· Operation While Prohibited
· Fail to Comply x3
A 16-year-old male from Pine Creek First Nation has been charged with;
· Robbery with a Firearm
· Disguised with Intent to Commit and Offence
· Weapons Possession Contrary to Order
· Possession of a Firearm when Unauthorized
· Fail to Comply x2
A 20-year-old male, of Pine Creek First Nation, will be facing a charge of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
Camperville, on the west side of Lake Winnipegosis is an hour and a half north of Dauphin.
RCMP continue to investigate.
