Melony Frank, an experienced ECE III has joined the team at Funshine Early Learning Centre Inc. in Virden.

Melony Frank has worked in child care for 10 years. With experience as a childcare assistant, early childhood educator, nursery school teacher, school-age supervisor, and Director. She’s honed her professional skills in Shoal Lake, Souris and Hartney, which she left in 2015 to Direct at Reston & Area Early Learning Centre Inc.

Frank is also trained in programs such as Seeds of Empathy, Learning Without Tears, and MCCA Ethics. Her tendency to go above and beyond in her work has been recognized in projects such as the Souris Gardening Project, Hartney Centre renovations and the Reston infant expansion.

“I read a quote once that truly encompasses all that I believe about early childhood education. The quote said, ‘The future belongs to the curious... try it, explore it, question it and turn it inside out.’ I believe we need to keep children curious and excited about learning. We set that foundation for a life full of success,” said Frank.

She is fully supportive of the current Funshine I Centre, under the direction of long-term Director Lisa Hicks and the successful development of Funshine II, including a new programming strategy. She is looking forward to helping the community of Virden fulfill their need for childcare spaces. Frank will be modernizing communication systems and working with the Funshine board of directors and staff to offer another safe, caring, play-based program for Virden at Funshine II.

She says, “I have been raised to believe that to every problem there is always a solution. I am very excited to be a new part of the Funshine team that has been dedicated to finding a solution to the need for childcare in Virden for the past eight years. I look forward to getting to know the children, families and community of Virden.”
