From Nov. 16 to 22 the Westman RCMP dealt with 61 police activities.
Nov. 17 - RCMP were dispatched to Sioux Valley for a report of an intoxicated female who left a residence with no shoes. RCMP located the person in the basement of a residence attempting to commit self harm. She was arrested under the Mental Health ACT and transported to the hospital where she received assistance.
Nov. 18- While conducting patrols in Sioux Valley, RCMP located a vehicle driving erratically. A roadside stop was initiated. Subsequent to investigation, it was determined that the driver was intoxicated. The driver was arrested for impaired operation of a conveyance. Breath samples of 220 mg/100 ml and 200 mg/100 ml were provided. The 34-year-old female driver was released on a future Court Date.
While officers were investigating the above, the intoxicated passenger approached officers waving a knife. The passenger was arrested without incident for assault with a weapon, and released on a future Court date.
Nov. 19- RCMP were dispatched to two break and enters in Pierson. Cash was stolen from the library and the municipal office. The matter is still under investigation.
Nov. 19 - RCMP were dispatched to Sioux Valley for a report of a male with a firearm threatening to shoot people. Subsequent to investigation, it was determined the male was carrying a machete. The 48-year-old male was arrested for uttering threats, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was released on a future Court date.
Nov. 20 - RCMP were dispatched to Sioux Valley for a report of people fighting. Police located two people with minor injuries. They both said the fight was consensual and wouldn't co-operate with a police investigation.
Nov. 20 - RCMP were dispatched to the RM of Sifton for a report of a vehicle that possibly drove into the Assiniboine River. Police located the vehicle stuck at the bottom of a hill near the river. Subsequent to investigation, the driver showed no signs of impairment. A tow truck was contacted.
Three wellbeing checks and 11 traffic enforcement actions were undertaken during this reporting period.
