Public health officials advise four additional deaths of seniors, Jan. 27, in the Southern Health and Winnipeg health regions.
The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 9.6 per cent provincially and 6.1 per cent in Winnipeg. As of 9:30 a.m. today, 95 new cases of the virus have been identified, however, one case has been removed due to data correction and brings to net-new case total to 94.
The Northern health region reported 43 new cases and Winnipeg found 44. Prairie Mountain Health, Southern and Interlake regions reported three and two new cases each.
Of the 281 people hospitalized with COVID-19, 127 are still infectious. Intensive care units have a total of 36 COVID-19 patients with 24 cases active. The total number of deaths due to COVID-19 is 813. Laboratory testing numbers show 1,576 tests were completed yesterday.
