Prairie Mountain RCMP respond to fatal collision

On Feb. 22, at approximately 8:40 p.m., Prairie Mountain RCMP received a report of a collision on Highway 41 entering St. Lazare, Manitoba. A vehicle had been travelling westbound into the town when it left the roadway and crashed into a tree.

On Feb. 22, at approximately 8:40 p.m., Prairie Mountain RCMP received a report of a collision on Highway 41 entering St. Lazare, Manitoba.

A vehicle had been travelling westbound into the town when it left the roadway and crashed into a tree. The 58-year-old male driver and lone occupant, from St. Lazare, suffered severe injuries and was transported to local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Investigation has determined alcohol was not a factor in the collision. The deceased was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.

An RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist and the RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team are assisting with the ongoing investigation.
