On Jun. 15 Virden RCMP responded to a call of an armed individual inside the Virden Hospital. Half of the hospital was evacuated, and the remaining portion was put on lockdown.
The armed individual locked themselves in a washroom with a loaded handgun. Entry was made into the washroom and the subject was arrested without incident. The investigation is continuing and charges have been laid.
