RCMP Report Dec 23 -30

During the week of Dec. 23 to Dec.30 the Westman RCMP dealt with 63 police activities.

Dec. 23 - RCMP responded to a break and enter at a business in Elkhorn. The suspects managed to leave with an amount of cash along with other items. The matter is still under investigation.

Dec. 23 - RCMP responded to a break and enter in Melita. A male was observed on video surveillance departing the residence with multiple stolen items. A 31-year-old male was arrested and charged with breaking and entering.

Dec. 23 - RCMP responded to a report of an intoxicated male trying to fight family members. Police attended and arrested the male for breach of peace, and provided lodging at the detachment to prevent any further problems.

Dec. 29 - RCMP were called to a report of a deceased deer blocking the road near Virden. A member attended, and dragged the deer into the ditch.

Dec. 29 - RCMP were conducting traffic enforcement in Sioux Valley. A vehicle was pulled over, and it was learned the driver was disqualified from driving. He received a $672 ticket and his vehicle was impounded.

Dec. 29 - RCMP were called to a vehicle vs. deer collision in the RM of Sifton. The driver of the vehicle was not injured and was transported to Virden due to the vehicle not being roadworthy.

During this week, there were also 37 traffic enforcement actions taken as part of the Holiday Checkstop Program.
