Reston's newest attraction, an artificial lake with sand beach, opened to the public last Saturday June 15 and started attracting fun-seekers as soon as the sun drove away the recent rain and cool temperatures.
The sand-bottom lake is nestled in between the town's golf course, campground and splash park. The water circulation system doubles as a decorative fountain.
It's all part of a recreation development partnership that helped the RM of Pipestone win a Westman tourism award recently.
