On Nov. 13, the Retired Teachers of the South West Assiniboine Region met to celebrate an early Christmas in the Sacred Heart Parish Hall.
The Catholic Ladies prepared us a delicious Christmas dinner with all the trimmings.
After dinner, Father Matt Koovisk, an expert pianist and accomplished tenor singer, joined us singing many Christmas carols. He complimented us on the wonderful singing voices. He made our day!
Ed Arndt entertained us by reading his version of “Twas the Night Before Christmas” which detailed a humorous type of living in the Sherwood Home.
Kathy Welsh read a poem about seniors which could be included in a Christmas card or gift. We found it very interesting because we could see ourselves in the meaning of the poem.
Some gifts had been volunteered from members so we held a raffle.
In addition, a table was piled high with items for the food cupboard. We all enjoyed our Christmas Bash!
Merry Christmas to All,
Lorraine Scott
President of Retired Teachers
