I have been fortunate to have served the ratepayers for three terms. I have worked with some great staff and council members.

Linda and I live near the city of Hargrave on a third generation mixed farm. We are lucky to have our three children nearby.

Our RM and surrounding area has great potential to attract industry, be it in the ag sector, oil industry or any venture. Major connecting highways, mainline rail, RM waterline, natural gas line availability to go along with some prime potential location sites gives this community great advantages. The formation of the Dennis County Development Corporation will hopefully push investment to the area.

There are a few issues simmering in the RM but the one heard the most is the transportation infrastructure. Top of the list is roads. Council will have to continue to improve on maintenance, especially on high traffic roads. Frequency of grader time has to improve and continued gravel application is needed to keep up with the traffic. Continued yearly upgrading of selected roads, the annual frost boil repair and more budget for tree scrubbing of ditches are needed to improve the road network.

The bridges in this RM are aging. The bridge reserve was set up to keep dollars available for upgrade or replacement of the designated bridges. Big dollars as you might suspect!

Though mostly unseen, culverts are also being tracked for rusting and damage as they age. Some have been in roadbeds along time.

Please get out to vote; sealed ballot or advance polls are also open to everyone.
