We have been a busy group since reconvening in September. We started the fall season celebrating our 60th Anniversary, catering to the Evergreen residents which we do once a month, selling Mom’s Pantry products; and we decided to sell Grey Cup tickets again.
We heard reports from our Annual Meeting held in Winnipeg in July and a report from our Provincial Association representatives.
In October, one member helped with hearing screening at Mary Montgomery School and we had three ladies who set up a booth at the Community Expo at Tundra Oil & Gas Place, and reported it to be very successful.
Our President laid a wreath at the Remembrance Day Service at the Virden Auditorium; we were asked to bring a gift for Christmas Cheer for a lady or man.
Our members are selling 50/50 tickets at Oil Caps games in December and January and will be delivering Meals on Wheels in January also.
In October, our Sunshine Committee presented Lil Wadham with a gift on her 60th wedding anniversary and Donna George on the occasion of her 50th wedding anniversary.
At our December meeting, Janice Simpson was presented with her 45-year service pin.
Our Lodge decided to support the Brandi Coulter Fund with a donation of $200. She is awaiting a heart transplant in an Edmonton hospital. We wish Brandi all the best as she waits with her family.
Merry Christmas one and all.
