Westman RCMP Report

During the week of May 24th to May 30, the Westman RCMP dealt with 57 police activities.

 

May 24 – RCMP were dispatched to Sioux Valley for a report of an intoxicated male causing a disturbance. Upon arrival, the male was located with a head injury from falling. EMS was called who transported him to the Brandon Hospital.

May 26 – RCMP were dispatched to Sioux Valley for a disturbance inside a residence. A 40-year-old male was arrested for breaching the peace. He was too intoxicated to care for himself so he was transported to the Virden detachment. He was released the following morning when sober.

May 27 – RCMP were dispatched to a land location in the RM of Wallace-Woodworth for a report of a break and enter. A 50-inch Samsung television was stolen from a barn. The investigation is ongoing.

May 29 – RCMP were dispatched to Sioux Valley for a report of shots fired. The investigation led police to a residence. Subsequent to a search of a residence, two rifles, psychedelic mushrooms, brass knuckles, and a large quantity of cannabis was located. A 42-year-old male is facing several firearm and drug related charges.

May 29 – RCMP were dispatched to Melita for a report of an assault. Subsequent to investigation it was determined that a 50-year-old male had committed an assault with a weapon. He was arrested, and released on a future Court date on the condition that he have no contact with the victim.

13 traffic enforcement actions, Two Covid compliance checks, and two wellbeing checks were undertaken during this reporting period.
