There’s been another fatal highway accident in the Virden area. In the early hours of Friday morning, at about 4 a.m. on August 10, Virden RCMP went to the scene of a single vehicle rollover on Highway 2, eight kilometres east of Pipestone.
They found that a pickup driven by a 23-year-old man from Weyburn, SK lost control and rolled into the ditch while going west on Highway 2.
A 39-year-old man who was a passenger in the truck was pronounced dead at the scene and two other men aged 27 and 32 suffered minor injuries.
The 23-year-old driver was arrested for impaired driving causing death and taken into custody.
Virden RCMP and a forensic collision reconstructionist are continuing their investigation.
