Residents and the Co-op store were without water in the morning, July 4.
At the corner of King St. and 7th Ave. the water just never dried up after the rain. By Thursday morning, Town of Virden maintenance crew had excavated King St. beside the co-op store in search of a water main leak.
Sure enough, by 12 Noon that day the leaky join was discovered.
Hopefully the water that has been shut off for the block between 7th Ave and 8th Ave on King St. will be restored soon.
