Impaired drivers still keeping police busy

During the week of Nov. 18 – Nov. 25 the Westman RCMP responded to 55 police activities.

Nov 18 - A vehicle parked on Nelson Street in Virden was damaged sometime overnight. If you have any information regarding this, please call the Virden RCMP or Crimestoppers.

Nov 20 - RCMP received a report of a single vehicle collision near Virden. The driver of the vehicle had received minor injuries and was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested for impaired driving and provided breath samples that were more than two times the legal limit.

Nov 22 - RCMP responded to a report of a single vehicle collision.  The driver of the vehicle was suspected to be impaired and drugs were found inside the vehicle. A blood sample was obtained and the matter is still under investigation.

Nov 23 - RCMP conducted a vehicle stop in Sioux Valley. An occupant of the vehicle got out and ran inside a residence. Police located the intoxicated male and arrested him for failing to comply with conditions and he was held in custody.

Nov 25 - RCMP responded to a call in the RM of Pipestone that a semi truck was on fire. The fire was deemed to be a result of mechanical issues.
