VCI Sports Report

Golf The VCI Boys’ and Girls’ Golf teams had a good time at Oak Island Golf course on Wednesday, Sept. 12. The boys faced some tough competition from the south, but low-scorer Eric Reid finished with a strong score of 78.

The VCI Golden Bears hoped to keep their winning streak alive in Swan River on Sept. 20, but ended up losing to the Tigers 42-14. The Bears’ next game is Thanksgiving Day, Oct. 8 in Moosomin.

Golf

The VCI Boys’ and Girls’ Golf teams had a good time at Oak Island Golf course on Wednesday, Sept. 12. The boys faced some tough competition from the south, but low-scorer Eric Reid finished with a strong score of 78.

Our girls did quite well, with their low-scorer Haylee Plaisier finishing the course with an exceptional score of 55.

Football

The Golden Bears football team has started their season off well, winning two of their three games. They currently stand in second place in the league.

Their upcoming games are on Monday, Oct. 8, in Moosomin and Friday, Oct. 12 at home.

Volleyball

In the volleyball world, all the teams have begun their seasons. The Varsity Girls’ and Varsity Boys’ teams played in Roblin this past weekend, the boys finishing in last place and the girls in fourth.

Also having a productive weekend, the Junior Varsity Girls’ team finished their home tournament in first place. The Junior Varsity Boys’ team has yet to win a game.

Soccer

Finally, the Girls’ Soccer team has played their first game, winning at home against Russell on Thursday, Sept. 28.
