Virden’s Kennedy Charles is headed to Red Deer.
The standout speed skater has been selected to compete in the Canada Winter Games. The prestigious event runs Feb. 15-March 3 in Red Deer, Alberta.
“I am very happy to represent Manitoba at the Canada Games,” the daughter of Joel and Dori Charles said. “I would like to make a strong showing in the five distances I will be skating: 500m, 1000m, 1500m, 3000m and the mass start and I really like our Manitoba team’s chances in the team pursuit. I can’t wait to soak in the Games experience and have some fun.”
