Upcoming cadet parade

Legion members attended a Memorial Service for Comrade Murray Wooldridge. President, Curtis Smith, did the Legion presentation and following that, six Honour Guard Members placed their Maple Leaf on a stand with Murray's picture on it. The Ladies Aux looked after the preparation and serving of the lunch in the assembly hall.

Our Cadet Corps is having their Annual Ceremonial Parade this coming Sunday, Jun. 11 at 3:00 p.m. in Victoria Park. In case of rain it will take place in the assembly hall. Please, come in Legion attire because it is a very important parade for them and they have lots to show you. They're our Cadet Dragoons and good ones, too. They deserve our support.

Comrade Jack Houston had his 94th birthday in the Legion Club Room at the Kenton Branch on Friday.He had a great birthday party with family and friends from the community and Legion Branches. Jack is a WW II veteran who served proudly with the XII Manitoba Dragoons.

June 21st is the next Executive and General Membership meeting, where two new directors need to be elected. We need a full Board to make things happen.

Check out the Meat Draws and Chase the Ace this coming Friday in the Club Room. Doors open at 4:00 p.m.

Legion Flag Day School which was held last Sunday afternoon was successful with discussion, information, demonstrations, and practice both inside and outside of the Legion. Coffee was supplied to those participating. All wore Legion attire.

Please Note: If someone would like to organize the Legion Float for the town's Canada Day Parade then step forward and volunteer to find a few others, decorate the float, be in the parade, and put it back in the garage.

The Legion Branch #003 in Brandon is looking for 300 volunteers for the RCL Track and Field National Championships for this summer and next year; or help only for one year. Contact the Brandon Legion for more information.
