Miniota Golf Club winds up with a tournament

You know you're at the Miniota Golf Club turn when you see this big bison along Hwy 83.

The Miniota Golf Club wrapped up another successful summer by holding two golf tournaments this past week. Thursday, Sept. 18 they held a 55 Plus Seniors tournament with 49 participants. Results were as follows.

Men’s Championship:

1 George Krieser; 2 Bob Cook on CB; 3 Clay Wyborn on CB; 

1st Flight: 1 Rod McKean; 2 Cam Gregory; 3 Larry Walker;

2nd Flight: 1 MarioTanguay; 2 Dale O’Greysik; 3 Gill Chartier;

3rd Flight: 1 Murray Foster; 2 Ron Clark; 3 Terry Lamoine;

Ladies Championship: 1 Norma Dupont; 2 Trudy Anderson; 3 Sharon McKenzie;

1st Flight: 1 Patty McTavish; 2 Maxine Veitch; 3 Dienna McConnell

On Saturday, Sept. 16 the Golf Club held a Jack and Jill event with 76 participants. Championship: 1 Jason McKenzie & Noreen Oliver; 2 Dean & Dienna McConnell; 3 George & Shawnda Kreiser; 

1st Flight: 1 Larry Walker & Rita Armitage; 2 Dalton & Irene Fidler; 3 Nick McNaughton & Camryn Rinn.  

Family surprised Trudy Watters on Saturday evening at the Arrow River Hall to help her celebrate a milestone birthday. Following a family supper, friends joined in for an evening of visiting.  Happy birthday, Trudy!

Congratulations to Foster Couvier who will play for the Fort Frances Lakers this coming season. We’re wishing you a successful year, Foster.
